Suzanne Kirk, MD

Meet Suzanne Kirk, MD

Born and raised in River Forest, Dr. Suzanna Kirk has a deep connection to the community she is proud to serve. She attended Oak Park River Forest High School before completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she earned her degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She went on to earn her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, graduating with Research Honors. She completed her Ophthalmology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued a fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery under the direction of Dr. William Wiley at Cleveland Eye Clinic. Dr. Kirk is board-certified in ophthalmology.

Education and Training

Growing up surrounded by ophthalmologists, Dr. Kirk saw firsthand the profound impact vision can have on a person’s life. Before and throughout medical school, she also gained firsthand surgical experience working as a scrub technician alongside her father, uncle, and cousins. As she progressed through medical school, she developed a particular appreciation for the detailed and precise nature of ophthalmic surgery, further inspiring her to pursue a career in ophthalmology.

Throughout her training, Dr. Suzanne Kirk has remained committed to global outreach and clinical research. She participated in surgical mission trips providing cataract surgery to underserved communities and presented her research at regional and national conferences.

Dr. Suzanne Kirk is passionate about the transformative impact of ophthalmic care and is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized, and compassionate care to every patient.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys baking sourdough, running half marathons, practicing Pilates, and travelling the world with her husband.
