I came here for LASIK not long ago and I had an incredible experience! All of the staff were wonderful, the consultation process was thorough and tailored to my individual situation, and it was easy to get in contact with someone if I had questions. The process of getting LASIK at the surgery center was also great, all of the staff I interacted with were awesome and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. I left with all of my questions answered, and I felt fully prepared to take care of myself post-procedure. I was really appreciative that Dr. Kirk called me later on in the evening to check in and make sure that the acute post-op period went smoothly, and I know who to call if I ever do need anything from them in the coming months. I went into Kirk Eye Center in for the first time for my annual exam and prescription update. Everything was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff made sure that I was seen right away. My ophthalmic technician was clearly well-versed, experienced, and ready to answer my questions. Her cool and calm demeanor spoke of her professionalism. I came here because of rapidly declining vision in my right eye. I was assigned to Dr. Kent Kirk (one of several of the family of Dr. Kirks in this practice) and was absolutely amazed at the quality of the care I received here! Dr. Kent spent nearly an hour (!) with me carefully examining my eyes, asking questions about my health history, diagnosing my condition (which fortunately was treatable), answered ALL my questions and fears, and made real sure I left with the eyedrops and Rx for supplements I needed to care for my condition. When is the last time a doctor spent an hour with you?! He has a kind, gentle chairside manner, reassuring me in no uncertain terms that my vision was 100% fine and just needed some TLC. I returned today for my follow-up and got the green light to resume using my contact lenses, and I couldn't be happier! His treatment worked beautifully! I strongly recommend this caring and highly professional family-owned practice to everybody. And they even took my insurance! How sweet is that! More

Although I am fairly young, for some reason my eyes started to develop cataracts. Getting to a point when driving my car became a dangerous adventure, after a thorough search on internet I have opted for cataract surgery at Kirk Eye Center. I wasn’t disappointed, everything there was top notch! Starting from the receptionists to the nurses, I was always treated in a very professional and courteous manner. Many thanks to Ms Joyce Wolter, the surgery manager who helped me going through all the paperwork and dealed with my insurance! She made everything look easy to me! All my life since childhood I’ve had poor vision but now after my right eye surgery I have 20/20 vision! Hi my experience with Dr. Tyler Kirk was very good he did both my eyes, first Cataracts removal then for my glaucoma he put in a stint to drain the fluid to keep my pressure down. I didnt have any problems. When I went back for my check up he asked me how is your vision now I told him it was so good that I could see what he was thinking. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he had a good laugh after that so if you want a great Doctor visit the Kirk Eye Center you will see the world much clearer I promise. Amazing experience! You only get one set of eyes in life, so based on research and reviews I traveled from Iowa to receive LASIK eye surgery from Kirk Eye Center... and it was absolutely worth it! Kirk Eye Center is equipped with top of the line laser technology and a care team that is exceptionally skilled. I was nervous about the procedure, but the care staff was kind and comforting. They walked me through every detail of the process before and during to ease any worry. They gave me the time I needed to ask questions and I never once felt rushed. I had cataract surgery on my right eye October 26th 2021 and then on April 26th 2022 I had surgery on my other eye for cataracts. Both eye surgeries were to correct my long distance vision. And it wound up correcting both visions. I was supposed to have only reading glasses after both surgeries but as a result I no longer need glasses for either. I couldn't be happier Dr Carter Kirk and his family did wonders I highly recommend them. More

The optical department is always so helpful in picking out frames or in my last case I found frames that I loved and brought them in and they were able to order the lenses for me. I also love that you can come in and get adjustments as needed, which is great in my sons case where his glasses get bent out of shape during sports season. More

I found this to be a highly professional friendly place for eye Care I had a thorough eye examination including pressure test for glaucoma camera shots of the retina and vision capabilities we're tested as well. The doctor went over the results with me and gave me a complete understanding of my eye health and what I can anticipate in the upcoming years being a senior citizen. The most impressive part of my experience was on the day of my surgery. The surgery staff could not have been nicer. Staff members introduced themselves to me and clearly explained what they were doing. Each staff member was so competent that it I felt very confident that I was in good hands. (I have to admit I was a bit anxious when I arrived). The outcome of the surgery has been very good. I brought in a pair of surgical glasses which lens fell out of and the manufacturer would have taken a couple weeks minimum to return these to me. Due to my profession I cannot afford to go more than a couple days without them.the part that concerned me was that these lenses have to be lined up perfectly as they are very costly precision instruments. The staff spent well over an hour helping me with these and we finally we're able to get them back still working order and I am able to see out of them perfectly again. I am extremely impressed that the staff took the time and had the patience to work with me. From now on if I need anything Kirk eye center will definitely be my first go to choice. I never write reviews, but I'm making an exception here. I had cataract surgery in February, 2018 by Dr. Scott Kirk. Both eyes, about a week apart. Everything went seamlessly. Recovery was a snap. I don't need glasses anymore, the glasses I wore since 4th grade. I was very resistant to having the surgery because, well, they're my eyes. However, when my prescription for my glasses could no longer improve my vision, I did my homework and decided to stay with the Kirk Eye Center. Very glad I did. I've been telling Dr. Scott that I'm a very satisfied customer and I am and that's why I'm writing this. More

I knew that I had to go to the eye doctor, as my eyesight seemed to be getting worse and worse, and that it was quite possibly because of cataracts. Not being able to see up close is in my estimation, somewhat of a relative issue, but driving at night was becoming more difficult. Halos on headlights or any type of street light was soon going to be a limitation. I came to Dr. Kent Kirk because my former eye doctor had retired after many years and my files had been transferred to the Kirk Eye Center. I found Dr. Kent Kirk to be very professional and knowledgeable about the procedures that he would be doing on my eyes. He took me through the procedure step-by-step. I actually decided to have the cataract surgery performed on my left eye, just two days before my birthday. Though I was a bit apprehensive, I found that everything that was done, was exactly what had been outlined. One thing that I had learned prior to the surgery was that cataract surgery was first performed in about 1750 and I really figured that this surgery would go with no issue. Little did I know that the surgery would go way better than I could have imagined. I found that on the way home, I already could see more clearly, whether it was license plates on vehicle around me, street signs, or even brighter interior lights. My left eye was markedly improved. I came back the next day for the post-surgery follow-up and Dr. Kirk was quite pleased with his work, as was I. He did ask when I wanted to do the right eye and I immediately told him - asap! I was able to have the appointment for the right eye surgery, 13 days later. This time the cataract surgery went easily, as well as the first. The big difference was there was very little apprehension on my part. Again, I was amazed at how well my vision had improved on the way home. In fact, I don’t really know if I had ever seen as well as I do now. I had glasses from when I was first in grammar school, but I went away from glasses and in to contacts in about December of 1974. I was working as a rookie policeman and was assigned to a “bank robbery in progress” call. When I entered the bank, my glasses fogged up. Within days, I made the appointment for contacts. From December 1974, I never wore glasses again. Now with the cataract surgery done on both eyes, I find that I do not need glasses for distance, and, amazingly, I will only need reading glasses that are at the lower end of the prescription range and that depends on just how small the letters are. All things considered, this may have been one of the best choices that I have ever made. At my age, I can probably say that my knee replacement was good, but, you know, there is nothing like being able to see clearly. Dr. Kent Kirk and his staff, both at the normal visits and the two surgery visits were fantastic. They exhibited a great deal of professionalism and, I must say that I was quite impressed with just how routine they could make this surgery. If you are unsure, I say - go for it! And Dr. Kent Kirk is the right person for getting the job done right. More

Love Kirk Eye Center! They were recommended to me by my mom and my sister in law when I had a bad cut in my cornea. Dr. Kirk took great care of me and I healed up quickly with much less pain than I would have without him. It was my first time in the office, but he made me feel like I had been a long time patient. Staff is great and I feel extremely comfortable with everyone at the office. Highly recommend!!! More

I've had cataracts removed from both eyes and I can say that it is one of the easiest procedures I've ever had. Everyone involved was professional and caring. It's pain free and there's really no recovery (other than maybe a nap). I recommend Kirk Eye Center for all your eye care needs. More

My father first met Dr. Kent Kirt I would say 17yrs to 18yrs ago. Dr.Kent did lyser eye surgery, and had a beautiful experience. A few weeks ago Dr.Kent Kirt had the privilege of doing catucus surgery on my father's left eye. My Dad had a excellent recovery and a beautiful surgery. Thanks to Dr. Kirt Kent and his whole staff. I had cataract surgery by Dr. Scott Kirk in November. The procedure was quick and painless as promised. Everything was explained to me in detail prior to and after the surgery in a plain-spoken compassionate manner. The staff the day of the surgery was extremely pleasant and calming. After 22 years in prescription glasses, the only kind I'll need is regular old sunglasses-- a luxury I haven't had since I was 6. I went in for my free consultation where my eyes were thoroughly examined and I was told I was a candidate. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and I did not feel rushed at all, which I have experienced quite a bit with other doctors and what I gleaned from other people's reviews of some of the "cattle call" Lasik centers in the area. The day of the procedure, I was at the surgery center for less than an hour and a half. I didn't have to wait at all, and the process was streamlined but again, I did not feel rushed. The staff was so nice and seemed genuinely concerned that everything went well. Dr. Kirk explained the process and it went exactly as he said it would go. It was about 30 seconds of total time under the lasers for each eye and the process was nowhere near as uncomfortable as I had imagined. Dr. Kirk gives you his cell phone number to call if you need anything or have any issues. I went home and took a nap, and Dr. Kirk called me that night to make sure everything was okay which is a nice touch. By the next day my vision was restored to a level it hasn't been since I was 20 years old! It has been 4 days and so far so good. Just like you always hear, my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner! Great experience, great staff, great doctor, I highly recommend Kirk Eye Center. More

I am so excited with the result of my Lasik operation at Kirk Eye Center. Since I am so pleased with how the operation went and the result. Here is the overall experience of my procedure. 1. Free consultation / follow up questions I had a Mini-Monovision or Laser Blended Vision as you will find on the internet. Yes, I was scared of having each eye with different visions. Dr. Kent Kirk along with Ms. Joyce Walter covered all questions and concerns I had prior to the operation. 2. Pre-op preparation Usual blood pressure check, eye drops, choice to take sedative pill…I wouldn’t go without it. Nurses were professional and courteous, Dr. Kent also took time to answer additional questions. 3. Creating cornea flap operation Kirk utilize laser cutting method, this is safer than manual cutting method, which I liked. Only thing is that it is a bit awkward, since you will feel heavy pressure and lose sight on that eye temporary. All I did was just focus on center light and being steady as much as possible as Dr. Kent encouraged me to do so by saying “Doing great, perfect and etc etc” for less than 30 seconds each eyes. 4. Lasik operation Allegretto WAVE Eye-Q Excimer Laser System. I drove to work after the appointment and followed recommended eye drop routines, I even used more tear eye drop (every 30 min) as I found that eyes need moisture to heal. My eyes did not show improvements throughout the day, but they were good enough for me to drive home at night in rain. No depth perception nor weird feeling issue due to Mini-monovision… 8. 2nd day after the surgery I woke up with almost 90% of the fuzziness gone…I found myself totally amazed/shocked by the clarity of my vision… There is a tree in front of our balcony which is about 30 feet away 3 story height. I can even see crease and dark spot on a leaf almost to the top of the tree 30 feet away. I had a very pleasant experience at the Kirk Eye Center. I had LASIK to correct very poor vision in both eyes and an astigmatism. Dr. Kirk was professional and did not push me into the surgery before he thought I was ready and a viable candidate. As a diabetic, there were further concerns/considerations with the procedure that Dr. Kirk was very aware of. I saw him over the course of a year before he decided it was the right time to do the surgery. Over that year, the office staff regularly checked in with me. I recently had LASIK Surgery at Kirk Eye Center in River Forest. I was incredibly happy with the experience during the entire process. From the initial exams to the actual surgery to the follow up appointment, the entire staff was very professional, helpful and caring. The LASIK surgery itself was very quick. I felt very well prepped Dr. Kirk and the staff. The first couple hours post surgery were uncomfortable, which was expected, but after that it was pain free. A few hours after surgery I received a personal call from Dr. Kirk following up to see how I was doing....which meant a lot. The next day my vision was great and has been since I had the surgery. I am glad to have chosen Kirk Eye Center to get my Lasik surgery done. From start to finish the experience could not have gone better. I went in for my free consultation where my eyes were thoroughly examined and I was told I was a candidate. Dr. Kent Kirk thoroughly explained the procedure to me and what I could expect afterward as well as the timeline of how my vision would progress. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and I did not feel rushed at all, which I have experienced quite a bit with other doctors and what I gleaned from other people's reviews of some of the "cattle call" Lasik centers in the area. The day of the procedure, I was at the surgery center for less than an hour and a half. I didn't have to wait at all, and the process was streamlined but again, I did not feel rushed. The staff was so nice and seemed genuinely concerned that everything went well. Dr. Kirk explained the process and it went exactly as he said it would go. It was about 30 seconds of total time under the lasers for each eye and the process was nowhere near as uncomfortable as I had imagined. Dr. Kirk gives you his cell phone number to call if you need anything or have any issues. I went home and took a nap, and Dr. Kirk called me that night to make sure everything was okay which is a nice touch. By the next day my vision was restored to a level it hasn't been since I was 20 years old! It has been 4 days and so far so good. Just like you always hear, my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner! Great experience, great staff, great doctor, I highly recommend Kirk Eye Center. More

Hello, I am going to share my whole experience from start to finish on my LASIK journey with Kirk Eye Center. (To get the overall review if you don’t care to read the whole story, skip to last paragraph) I found them online and read some reviews and saw they had FREE LASIK consultations, so I decided to enter in my information and see where that takes me. A few days later I received an email about a setting up an appointment for the consultation. I got quick email replies which was nice and set up my appointment. A week later it was time for my appointment, I get in and got checked in quickly! They brought me in the back and began by asking questions on my health background. Then they proceeded to check my eye sight. After that they put in some numbing drops and used a pen to check my eye pressure. The numbing drops worked amazing but it did feel very weird, normal though. After that I was seated back in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. I was then ask to come into another room where they did a scan of my eyes, this was very cool and interesting to me. After that I was put into a room to wait to see the Dr. I only waited about 5 minutes until he came in. He checked my eyes and went over all of my information to discuss if I was a good candidate for LASIK or not which I was. I did have a dry spot on my eye which he figured was just temporary and gave me a few eyedrops and if I did go ahead with the procedure he wanted to have me come back in to check to see if it had cleared up. After that I was placed back into the waiting room until I think her name was Joyce came and brought me back to talk about the numbers part. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions and didn’t pressure me into anything and I went on my way for the day with my information. I decided to go ahead and do the procedure so I emailed them and filled out my paperwork and got a date. My date was only a week away which was crazy fast and I had a lot of mixed feeling at this point since I was honestly nervous. I got back in to get my eye checked before hand and everything went well with that. Surgery day I got there, they took me back and took vitals and explained what was going to happen and gave me something to help relax me since I was basically having a panic attack at this point. The procedure was extremely fast. I would say I was only a total of maybe 2 min of being worked on, minus the prep time and such, but that wasn’t a big deal. After I was done my eyes were very sensitive and tired so someone read me my after care instructions. I then was ready to go. I was only there for about 1 hour to an hour and 15. I got home and I attempted to nap like I was recommended. I laid down but my eyes started to spasm intensely and I tossed and turned for about 45 minutes in extreme pain just trying to get the spasming to stop. I could barely open my eyes at this point and got ahold of the Dr. he instructed me on what to do and within about 15 min they stopped spasming and I was able to rest a few hours with my eyes closed. Later that night I was watching TV and had basically perfect vision minus the slight blurriness. My next day checkup went as smoothly and my consultation. At this point I had 20/20 vision and my eyes felt great, no pain or anything. It is a week later as I am writing this and I have done all my eyedrops and aftercare as I was instructed and I haven’t had any problems. If you stuck it out through this experience, I would definitely say if you are considering getting LASIK, do it with Kirk Eye Center. They have gone above and beyond my expectations! I even went back and purchased a nice pair of sunglasses with their great optical team to protect my new eyes. More

I cannot express in words how they changes my life for the better but I will do my best. I went there after having issues with my eyes no longer tolerating me wearing contacts. This was a major issues because my vision was so bad that with glasses I was around 40/20 in one eye and 50/20 in the other. This made it hard to drive at night and even dealing with everyday tasks. Contact improved that to about 30/20 and 40/20. I have always been very near sighted so much that most doctors had only seen a couple patients worse then me. I decided contact implants was the only option I had. Since I maxed out the power of the contact implants I also would need lasik too! It was a long process with many surgeries. I found through the process the Dr Kent Kirk would not settle for good he was determined to make sure everything was done to be the best for me. After it was all done I am seeing at 25/20 better then I have ever have before. No glasses, no contacts, no fear of not seeing ever again! The nursing staff treated me like family and I still visit them when doing follow ups. I would not trust my eyes, my families and friends eyes to anyone else. It was not a easy or cheap road but I am so thankful I did it! Priceless and life changing. I was the blind man they made see. They truly treat you like family and care so much! More

The numbing drops worked amazing but it did feel very weird, normal though. After that I was seated back in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. I was then ask to come into another room where they did a scan of my eyes, this was very cool and interesting to me. He checked my eyes and went over all of my information to discuss if I was a good candidate for LASIK or not which I was. I did have a dry spot on my eye which he figured was just temporary and gave me a few eyedrops and if I did go ahead with the procedure he wanted to have me come back in to check to see if it had cleared up. After that I was placed back into the waiting room until I think her name was Joyce came and brought me back to talk about the numbers part. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions and didn’t pressure me into anything and I went on my way for the day with my information. I decided to go ahead and do the procedure so I emailed them and filled out my paperwork and got a date. My date was only a week away which was crazy fast and I had a lot of mixed feeling at this point since I was honestly nervous. I got back in to get my eye checked before hand and everything went well with that. Surgery day I got there, they took me back and took vitals and explained what was going to happen and gave me something to help relax me since I was basically having a panic attack at this point. The procedure was extremely fast. I would say I was only a total of maybe 2 min of being worked on, minus the prep time and such, but that wasn’t a big deal. After I was done my eyes were very sensitive and tired so someone read me my after care instructions. I then was ready to go. I was only there for about 1 hour to an hour and 15. I got home and I attempted to nap like I was recommended. I laid down but my eyes started to spasm intensely and I tossed and turned for about 45 minutes in extreme pain just trying to get the spasming to stop. I could barely open my eyes at this point and got ahold of the Dr. he instructed me on what to do and within about 15 min they stopped spasming and I was able to rest a few hours with my eyes closed. Later that night I was watching TV and had basically perfect vision minus the slight blurriness. My next day checkup went as smoothly and my consultation. At this point I had 20/20 vision and my eyes felt great, no pain or anything. It is a week later as I am writing this and I have done all my eyedrops and aftercare as I was instructed and I haven’t had any problems. If you stuck it out through this experience, I would definitely say if you are considering getting LASIK, do it with Kirk Eye Center. They have gone above and beyond my expectations! I even went back and purchased a nice pair of sunglasses with their great optical team to protect my new eyes. More

I made the appointment at Kirk just to see if it was any different. Dr. Kirk had some concerns about a few things, scheduled me for some extra tests, and I felt so much more taken care of there. It felt like he actually cared about my long term wellness vs just wanting to schedule me for an expensive procedure and get me out the door. Everyone at Kirk was professional, accommodating, and friendly. The LASIK itself was so incredibly fast and painless that I could hardly believe it. Dr. Kirk and the nurses there all prepared me really well for the whole procedure and what would happen after. I'm normally very nervous for medical procedures, but I found the LASIK to be no big deal. It was certainly uncomfortable in the few hours following, but I knew it was normal and got through it with no problems. The next day, I was seeing 20/20 and I have had zero issues in the week since. I keep thinking that I'll try to take my contacts out before I go to sleep because my vision is so good. I would highly recommend going to Kirk to anyone who has been thinking about LASIK. Hello, I am going to share my whole experience from start to finish on my LASIK journey with Kirk Eye Center. (To get the overall review if you don’t care to read the whole story, skip to last paragraph) I found them online and read some reviews and saw they had FREE LASIK consultations, so I decided to enter in my information and see where that takes me. A few days later I received an email about a setting up an appointment for the consultation. I got quick email replies which was nice and set up my appointment. A week later it was time for my appointment, I get in and got checked in quickly! They brought me in the back and began by asking questions on my health background. Then they proceeded to check my eye sight. After that they put in some numbing drops and used a pen to check my eye pressure. When I originally came to Kirk Eye Center I had no vision in my right eye. I had visited a a center in the Southeast surburb of Chicago and was told that I had vitreous hemorrhaging on the back of my retina. I was instructed to sleep at a forty five degree angle and it would dissipate. After coming back for three weeks with no success, I was sent to a Retinal Surgeon.The retinal surgeon also told me to sleep at a forty five degree angle and it would dissipate in a few days. After I returned in a week the surgeon told me that he would have to do surgery on my retina.He explained to me that he was on the staff at the University of Chicago and that I should get on his list to have the surgery as soon as possible. At this time I told him that I wanted to get a second opinion.He seemed unhappy that I would do that. I was told by a friend that I should go to Kirk Eye Center in River Forest. When I made an appointment at KEC, I spoke with the nurses there and went in to see DR. Scott Kirk. After being examined by Dr Scott who stated that he did not see what the first Opthamologist and Surgeon were talking about.He then brought in Dr. Kent Kirk and the head surgical assistant.They together determined that it was a stage four cataract. Dr Scott then summoned the resident Retinal Surgeon.After the Retinal Surgeon , Dr. Blake Horio looked, he turned the light off, dropped his head and sadly said that " some one was trying to make some money and if they are doing this to you they are doing it to others".Dr Horio then stated that I should come to his office in Hinsdale and he wanted to do a B- Scan.He also stated that it looked like a stage four cataract. I was given an appointment to see Dr.Horio three hours later. Upon arriving at his office and having a B Scan he showed me a rectangular card with two large black circles in the center that were surrounded by what looked like the milky way.He said that if there had been any hemorraging those star like objects would be in the black circles. He then told me to go back to KEC and have Dr. Scott and Lovie (surgical assistant) remove the cataract and I WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE. After making an appointment I went in a week later. On the day of the surger I was greeted by the friendly staff that assured me that everything would be okay. After what seemed to be about fifteen minutes Dr. Scott Kirk asked me how many fingers did I see. I was able to respond correctly right away. After my first post operation visit my vision was 20/25.When I went back two weeks later my vision was 20/20 and i was very happy As a result of this experience I would highly recommend the Kirk Eye Center. I went back a year later and had the left eye cataract removed and all went well.I have gone back for exams and I am grateful for my vision and the professionalism at the Kirk Eye Center. I just had cataract surgery. I highly recommend Kirk Eye Center! I cant praise Kirk Eye Center in Gurnee and NovaMed Center in River Forest enough!. Both are professional and do an amazing job at keeping you informed and relaxed regarding the procedure. They have the process down to a choreographed science.Every dept. and every person is professional, can answer any question, they take their time with you, but they don't waste it either. Dr. Scott Kirk is wonderful as well as Michelle in the Gurnee office. If you have been told you need cataract surgery took up Dr. Scott Kirk in Gurnee and River Forest- you wont be sorry. The day after my surgery my vision was 20-25 in my left eye- everything was bright and clear. I had Lasik on 10/18 and while my eyes are still adjusting, I had a really great experience that I don't know why I was nervous to begin with. During my consultation, my options were explained to me, I was explained how the surgery would go and my financing and post surgery care instructions. The day of the surgery, all my questions were answered, everyone was very kind to me, and I felt very calm. During the surgery, the Doctor was explaining everything to me and was being super encouraging with his words and letting me know everything was going great (which was incredibly reassuring). I could not have asked for a better experience and I would highly recommend Kirk to those seeking out Lasik. More

My husband, Mario, had cataract surgery on both eyes. the staff at the surgery center were great. they checked in with him often, and kept him informed as to the next step. He was apprehensive at first but seeing how smoothly it went eased his concerns. The staff was great, the doctors are very knowledgeable and confident in what they do. The nurses were very comforting seeing that I was nervous and the doctor was very professional. I was informed of every occurrence and how I should be feeling which put me at ease. They catered to my every comfort in making sure i was warm and comfortable on the operating bed. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone who is interested in the services they provide. More
This experience was positive from the moment of first contact. Joyce Wolter, who scheduled surgeries was prompt at replying to my initial query. Then the evaluation was thorough (and free). Dr. Kent Kirk explained my three options, answered questions, and I never felt I was being persuaded to have LASIK surgery. I mulled over it for a week, communicating frequently with Joyce about additional questions I had. Then I had the surgery and could not be more pleased! Dr. Kirk explained the procedure before and during, and a nurse held my hand while it was happening! It was quick and painless, and recovery is too. I have 20/20 distance vision for the first time in my life! The follow up visit was quick but thorough. I actually found Kirk Eye Center at zocdoc but also read reviews from google and yelp. What a great decision it was to select Kirk Eye Center for my vision problems. My vision was getting cloudy and I felt it was time to get my eyes checked. I needed cataract surgery and Dr Kent Kirk performed that for me yesterday.The procedure took about 15 minutes and I felt no pain during the entire procedure. I had zero side effects: no inflammation, no infection, no swelling, no bleeding, no glaucoma or retinal problems. As I write online, I can read the computer screen better than with my glasses. At my followup visit today Dr Kent Kirk told me that everything was so successful that I could start driving again. No restrictions. I couldn't be more pleased. Dr Kent Kirk is the "Michael Jordan" of ophthalmologists. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Update June 30, 2016: Dr Kent Kirk did my left eye yesterday and did the follow-up today and I now have near 20/20 vision in my left eye. I was able to read the 20/25 line and 2 of the 4 letters on the 20/20 line. He put a distance lens in the left eye and a reading lens in the right eye. I don't need glasses anymore. I couldn't be happier. Both surgeries were done to perfection. I can drive without glasses the day after my surgery. In addition, Medicare plus my supplement paid the entire cost of both cataract surgeries. More

I called Dr. Scott Kirk at home at 12:30 at night, when my teenage son had something painful and invisible in his eye(still, after flushing and showering). First of all, I was so grateful that he answered the phone after midnight. I explained the situation, that we had been in his eye center one time, and he proceeded to talk me through how to try to get the fragment out. Much patience, we performed the procedure, but no luck. He had us drive to his house, so he could help us, now @ 1am. He worked on my son at his home, but needed some equipment, so we all went to his office at 1:30am. My son's eye was numbed at the office, so we weren't sure if the fragment was out or not; Dr. Kirk offered to be available to us the next day, which was the 4th of July. My son was better the next morning, so no need. Dr. Kirk was humble and gracious, and never made us feel that we were intruding on him (which we were!). I have been treated by all three Kirk family M.D.s (Scott, his son Tyler, and Scott's brother Kent), and all seem competent and thorough. Additionally Dr. Scott Kirk performed cataract surgery on me about four months previously with a good outcome. Robin, the optical dept. manager was especially helpful when I asked her to check the correction on two sets of glasses I had purchased elsewhere. The staff is in general fairly friendly, especially the two women at the front desk. More
